De Burgemeester is located in the old Town Hall of the picturesque village of Linschoten in the Green Heart area of the Randstad. Sander cooks divinely delicious meals here every day. His wife Anne, hostess and sommelier, skilfully coordinates between the kitchen staff and the restaurant. Every guest is treated like royalty and served the tastiest of culinary delights, prepared with passion and love.
De Burgemeester is located in a listed building, so the dimensions of this kitchen are very different from what you might normally expect. There were several hurdles to overcome, ranging from obtuse angles in the corners to very unusual sizes. But no challenge is too demanding for us; in fact, the more difficult the job, the more we enjoy it! Custom-made is in our blood, and projects like this make our hearts beat faster. The freezer unit with worktop is particularly unusual. The Gastonorm trays are normally mounted lengthwise, but we had to arrange them widthwise here due to the lack of space. The rounded corners, which you see consistently on all the kitchen furniture units and extractor, are a conspicuous feature. The Big Green Egg integrated in the kitchen island also catches the eye. But it’s the details, such as the custom holder for the Gastronorm trays, that make this commercial kitchen in Linschoten so special. In fact, the custom holder, used to store tongs and spoons, was fabricated to fit around a load-bearing pillar. Ideal for routing and extremely convenient in the hustle and bustle of daily use! Everything has its own permanent place in this kitchen, says owner Chef Sander Spruijt.
