As the first permanent beach restaurant in Scheveningen, De Waterreus is the ideal place, from summer to winter, for enjoying a delicious bite to eat and a cosy drink looking out over the North Sea. The beach pavilion combines a tough and uncluttered look with maritime accents and elements illustrating Scheveningen’s rich history. The tabletops in the restaurant are really special. De Waterreus was voted the best beach pavilion in South Holland in 2019, an accolade that the staff and owner have truly earned!
A large fryer stands on one side of the kitchen. It features a fully automatic grease filtration system. Next to the fryer, there is a large kitchen island, equipped with two Adieu griddles, a two-basket fryer unit, a six-burner and two-burner gas range and a water bath grill. From the worktop units to an automatic portioning system for the sauces, every effort has been made to keep the routing as optimal as possible. The kitchen features a pass unit with dispensing stations, under a suspended heated shelf.
